From apprentice to sales manager

In this interview, we'll talk to Florian Friedl who has had a successful career at Scheuch, starting as a technical draughtsman and working his way up to sales manager.

He'll talk about his experiences, challenges and plans for the future.

How did your career develop at Scheuch?

I started at Scheuch in 2010 and took a short break from 2018 to 2021 while I completed my bachelor's degree. My career began with an apprenticeship as a technical draughtsman, which I finished in 2014. I then worked as a project engineer and later as a project manager. At the same time, I completed an access to higher education course alongside my job. From 2018 to 2021,
a completed a full-time bachelor's degree in innovation and product management. I have been working in the sales area since 2021, first as a sales engineer and then as a sales manager since 2023. In addition, I completed my master's degree in mechatronics/economics in 2023.

What were your greatest professional successes and challenges?

My promotion to sales manager was a great success that shows that my work and commitment are valued in the company. The greatest challenge in my career was passing my access to higher education exams while working 40 hours per week at the same time. I then also worked full-time during my master's degree. That was a very intensive but also an extremely educational time.

What were your highlights at Scheuch?

I really enjoy working together with our branch in the USA. This gives me the opportunity to gain new experience and expand my horizons.

What career goals do you have and how does Scheuch support you in them?

I would like to keep developing and obtain new knowledge in order to support the company's development and growth as well as possible. Scheuch offers me great further training opportunities, such as educational leave for my bachelor's degree and an English course. I also really value the fact that I am empowered to work independently.

What do you do to relax when you're not working?

I love playing football and tennis in my free time. I also do lots of things with my girlfriend and my friends. I am also passionate about travelling, which helps me to clear my head.
