Mersad Muranovic, Assembly Team Leader

From metal structural engineering apprentice to assembly team leader

Mersad Muranovic has been a dedicated part of the Scheuch team since September 2014.

With a well-founded apprenticeship as a metal structural engineer and valuable experience on various projects, he has always continued to develop and, these days, is a team leader in the assembly department. In this interview, he'll give us some insights into his career at Scheuch.

Can you tell us a little about your apprenticeship?

I completed my apprenticeship as a metal structural engineer and then worked as an assembler in steel and hall construction for four years. These experiences prepared me well for the challenges at Scheuch.

What positions have you held in the company up to now and what were your greatest professional successes and challenges?

Before taking up my current position as team leader, I worked as a chief assembler. In this role,
I gained valuable experience on large projects, particularly in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
My greatest successes include implementing these projects successfully, of which I am very proud. The jump from assembler to team leader was another important stage in my career. At the same time, these projects were my greatest challenges, as the responsibility was enormous and it was not always easy to meet all requirements, both as chief assembler and in my new role as a team leader.

What goals are you pursuing in your future career?

I am always striving to develop further and to discover new challenges, also outside my current range of tasks. In doing so, I'm happy to support the sales and project development departments during planning and preparation for projects, in order to make the assembly processes easier and to improve them continuously. I am currently taking part in basic training for managers, which helps me to realise these goals.

How do you maintain a good work-life balance?

The most important balancing factor for me is my family, especially my wife and our son, who is almost two. I also take part in athletic sports and did competitive bodybuilding until three years ago;
I even took part in regional and international competitions.
