Passionate about technology serving the environment

Umut Erisken has been part of Scheuch for 13 years and has commissioned numerous systems around the world in this time.

As an electrical software engineer, he is responsible for programming and commissioning complex systems. In this interview, he'll tell us about his career and the challenges that he has overcome.

Can you tell us a little about your professional background and your apprenticeship?

I completed my apprenticeship as an electrician, which gave me a solid base for my later work at Scheuch. I started in service and customer service as a commissioning specialist and gained a great deal of valuable experience in this role before taking on the position of electrical software engineer.

What were your greatest professional successes and challenges in your career up to now?

My greatest successes include having successfully commissioned systems in various countries such as France, Romania, the Netherlands, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Belgium and Morocco. These international jobs have given me a great deal. Particularly when the conditions on-site were difficult, it was challenging to program, connect and commission systems, but the satisfaction is even greater once they have been successfully commissioned.

Which projects did you enjoy most?

I have particularly fond memories of projects in my home country of Turkey. These jobs were not just professionally fulfilling but also personally. Thanks to my mother tongue, I was able to do and organise many things much quicker and easier. The customers were also very happy to be able to communicate in their mother tongue, which aided cooperation and made things more enjoyable.

What goals do you have for your future career development?

My goal is to continue to improve my strengths and to develop further, particularly in the field of software development for electrical systems. The company provides me with a great deal of support through training sessions and courses that provide me with further technical training and to always remain up to date with the latest technology.
