Success at work thanks to versatility
After he completed his apprenticeship as an electrical installation engineer, Patrick Siegetsleitner moved to Scheuch in 2008.
Nowadays, he takes care of our customers' requirements as a senior sales manager. We asked Patrick to share his exciting journey with us and to talk about the various stages and milestones that got him to where he is today.
What were the most important stages on the way to your present position as a senior sales manager?
I have worked for Scheuch since October 2008 and have had a varied professional path since then. My career began with an apprenticeship as an electrical installation engineer. After moving to Scheuch, I first took on a position in switch cabinet construction. But before I could really get started there, I got the chance to get a taste of the job of service technician. I loved this experience so much that I hopped between switch cabinet construction and service between January and May 2009 according to where I was needed. In June 2009, I started working in the service area full time and was working all around Europe until October 2016. In November 2016, I took one year's educational leave to gain qualifications, which I completed at the start of 2018. I then moved to internal sales, where I worked until June 2020. Since June 2020, I have been working in field sales. At the same time, I completed a part-time degree in industrial engineering from October 2019 to July 2023.
What professional success do you remember in particular?
Looking back, I cannot limit my greatest successes to one single event or project. As a service technician on large projects, I always considered it a success when the lot was started up and I got the signature on the acceptance report. Projects completed by my customers in the furniture industry are currently some of my greatest successes. It's a great feeling to stand in front of a fully-installed system in which you were involved majorly when it came to planning and design.
What was the greatest challenge that you have had to face up to now?
The greatest challenge in my career was definitely the extra workload due to my part-time degree along with my job and the field work. However, I even overcame this challenge. Daily interaction with customers and my colleagues, along with the challenging task of always finding and developing the best possible solutions for our customers give me particular pleasure.
What is your typical daily routine outside of work?
In my spare time, I love travelling, I go to concerts and enjoy having barbecues with family and friends. These hobbies help me to maintain a good work-life balance.
