A Home Office Project That’s Here to Stay
To ensure the safety of its workforce, Scheuch in Aurolzmünster moved a large portion of its workplaces to home office shortly after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With laptops, video conferencing equipment, and upgraded software, employees were able to carry out their work without any issues. The management and works council jointly initiated this project, with support from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor’s Future Fund.
“Through home office, we kept infection rates low in the company and made childcare during the crisis possible – a win-win situation. Additionally, we now hold company meetings online and record them on video, ensuring everyone stays well-informed,” said Wilhelm Aigner, Chair of the Employees’ Works Council.
Even after the pandemic, employees can work 30% of their time from home, regulated by a company agreement.
