Setting new standards in sustainable power generation
1,350 kWp PV System for Greater Independence from the Energy Market
We are setting new standards in environmental responsibility – both through our products and our actions. At our Aurolzmünster site, the largest photovoltaic system in the Ried Energie network has now been commissioned. With 3,200 modules generating a maximum daily output of 8,400 kWh, this system fully covers the site’s energy needs. This marks a significant step forward in our commitment to sustainability – from green energy production to reducing our own carbon footprint.
For 60 years, Scheuch has stood for innovation and progress. "We are market and competence leaders in air and environmental technology. Setting new standards within our own company is a logical next step. To run a successful business in the future, you must be willing to break new ground. The PV system is one of those new paths for us. Achieving maximum independence from the energy market while producing sustainable energy is the need of the hour. Those who fail to act now will miss out on a competitive advantage for many years to come," says Stefan Scheuch, CEO of Scheuch Group.
Saving 700 Tons of CO2
Construction of the 1,350 kWp system on the industrial building began in July and was completed after just two months. “The electrical planning for this project was extensive, and we received excellent support from our long-standing partner, Hapec. We are delighted that the installation by marasolar proceeded so efficiently. The PV system is a key step toward promoting renewable energy and reducing the company’s environmental impact. With this system, we will save 700 tons of CO2 annually and significantly lower our energy costs. With a payback period of three years, solar energy is a profitable and sustainable option for businesses,” says Manuel Irnstädter, Team Leader Facility Management at Scheuch.
Philipp Schopp, Team Leader HSEQ, Sustainability, and Process Management, shares this perspective: “As a company operating in the field of environmental technology, it is our responsibility to act sustainably ourselves. Green energy plays a crucial role in this. A project like the implementation of this PV system demonstrates that Scheuch is ready to take responsibility and prioritize operational sustainability management. This sends an important signal both externally and internally,” says Schopp.
An exemplary investment
The system will generate approximately 1.4 million kWh of electricity annually, compared to an annual consumption of just over 1 million kWh. The surplus clean energy will be fed into the Ried Energie grid – more than any other system in the region. CEO Ing. Fritz Pöttinger of Energie Ried GmbH considers this largest PV system in the Ried Energie network to be a remarkable and exemplary investment in the necessary energy transition for the region.
The 3,200 modules were installed on the Scheuch industrial building by marasolar. “We provide our customers with reliable and independent energy solutions. This requires tailored systems and the necessary infrastructure. Completing a project of this magnitude is always a significant challenge and a tremendous achievement,” says Markus Rauchenecker, Managing Director of marasolar.
Even more green initiatives
With this green project, the Scheuch Group reaffirms its role as a model company, complementing extensive measures in electromobility and digitalization. Further sustainable investments for additional locations are already in the planning stages.
